WHAT TO SEE

Czech karst and Karlštejn area offer a wide range of possibilities to the visitors. We are happy to advice you where to go, what to see, where to rent bicycles (or other sport equipment) or where isa sport centre or a bowling hall. We are also happy to help you with a reservation to these places. The location of the hotel is great for hiking, train and car trips. The serrouning of Řevnice offers lots of hiking and cycling routes. It is great for both lovers of nature and sightseeing in this area.

It is easy to reach many sights by train.

Řevnice is situated on both banks of the river Berounka. It lies at the edge of the nature reserve Czech karst and also is gate to the Brdy mountains, highest mountain range in the Central region. You have an option to visit a protected nature reserve as well as the capital Prague.

CASTLE KARLŠTEJN

Karlštejn Castle was founded in 1348 by the Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor as his private residence and a place of safekeeping royal treasures, especially his collections of holy relics and the Imperial Crown Jewels. In 1355 Charles IV stayed here for the first time, overseeing the construction and decoration work, especially in chapels. QUARRY VELKÁ AMERIKA (GREEAT AMERICA)

Velká Amerika – Czech Grand Canyon is a lime stone quarry about 800 meters long, 200 meters wide and 100 meters deep. At the bottom of the quarry, there are two interconnected lakes that are filled with beautifully clear water that attracts people to swimming particularly in summer. The quarry is officially closed though. You can see the quarry safely from the nearby car park or from the paths that lead around the quarry.

The place is also popular for the film makers. The films Lemonade Joe and Acumulator were filmed here.
The place is just off the road leading to village Mořina (going from Karlštejn) and village Kozolupy (going to Loděnice – Prague).

You can hike from here to quarries called Mexico, Canada and Small America, too.

OPEN AIR MUSEUM SOLVAY QUARRY

Mining open air museum is located in the closed down quarryin Czech karst. The visitors can follow the marked paths where there are information panels with facts of how the lime stone was being mined and distributed. You can also see the mining equipment as well as themed expositions in the old mining offices. Many visitors come the this museum to travel by an old mine train.

KONĚPRUSY CAVES

The caves are situated in Central Bohemia, 7 km South of Beroun, in the middle of the nature reserve of Czech Karst, not far from the castles Křivoklát and Karlštejn. The caves were discovered in 1950 and made accessible for the public in 1959. The caves originate in 400-million-year-old Devon calcite rocks, consist of three levels to be found 70 m under the ground-level, and over 2 km long. The accessible part is 620 m long and the sightseeing tour lasts 1 hour.
